right, 70 amps, you could very easly weld 3mm/1/8plate goes from 70amp to 300amp in increments.

 

im near Northampton, prob to far for a few of you.

 

im struggling to get pics here, but can send them via phone if any ones still interested.

I would say that was very much dependent on the man holding the stick.

 

When folk say light metal, I take that to mean car bodywork etc. MIG is the way forward for that.

 

3mm I agree is a different kettle of fish.

the sort of work I do 3mm is light metal, and as you say mig is the way for cars, think anyone trying to do car body work with a stick is very good or very stupid.
