I once had a 16" chinese chainsaw .. ran for a year with progressively more things going wrong with it .. mostly little things like the vibration mountings getting worn out .. then I was using it one day, got a bit of kickback and the chain brake handle just snapped clean off ...

Needless to say I got a stihl after that :D

Its an issue with cheap saws, unfortunately some not up to EU safety standards

The saw seems to be working fine. When it warms up it is fine. Torque is not great but what do you expect from 25cc. It just makes my life easier ;)

 

Plus I cannot think that a large German company would sell non approved goods. TUV is quite strict in Germany. The same as FR Jones would not sell something that is dangerous. It is not a Stihl or Husqvarna that is supposed to work 8h a day, but a useful tool for occasional use.

I agree, they're not all bad & as you say fine for occasional use.
