Still worth asking "J", perhaps simply require some element of flatpacking with the smaller TK1600 "flipped" on top, Sardine style.

Honestly, it's a big machine - not much smaller than my Logmaster (which only just fitted, shoehorned into a 40ft container).

The Mercedes Tipper is in the village I grew up in. Nice truck, but a lot of money!

Clint,

I just "pinged" Will at TimberKing, re the 2200 Mill for you.

And per "J" above, I may now need to backtrack to a 1400 or even a 1220 to get "my" Mill squeezed into "your" Welsh bound 40' container.

hey ho,

Marcus

I've seen a 2200 up at Frank Gamwell's a couple of years ago - they are big machines and you wouldn't get two into a container.

I contacted Frank Gamwell last week and spoke to a lady and sadly told me that Mr Gamwell had passed away a few days earlier!

Damm!

I suppose it was before Christmas when I spoke to Mrs Gamwell.

I realized Frank was seriously unwell, but understood he was getting out of hospital.

I did not realize his prognosis.

Very sad. Found out earlier in the week. He'd had cancer, and had had it for some time. Didn't let it hold him back though and completed several Tour de France stages whilst fighting the disease.

He was one of the original small scale sawmillers, and many of the local sawmills owe him a debt of gratitude for his help, advice and expertise over the years. RIP.

difflock if it costs over a 1.5k to ship it might be cheaper to pay them to send a guy over and ship them over in part form and get them assembled as on site as they will fit 2 in the container more than lightly

ps one of there guys would be up for it if you offered to cover the costs of the flight as they could make a holiday out of it,

A sensible idea, I had envisaged some element of "flat packing" for shipping (knowing of an engineer working for a local fabrication company, whose job is to max out their container "stuffing" using different products from within range, and with minor mods to their equipment design if needed!)

And I would presume if the TimberKing factory was shipping to a dealership this would also apply.

Remove wheels and headworks, chassis on top of other, headworks sat on top of chassis.

Unpack and connect up a batch of hydraulic hoses, and bobs somewhat related.

However I can understand that if they are shipping direct to a customer, they would rather ship the mill complete and ready to run.

cheers
