Recommended Posts

Everyone, I know this has no doubt been discussed on here before. Im new to this website. Really after advice, information about how to break into the tree inspection / officer world. What is the best recognised course to do and who with. I have alot of practical experience of trees and that field of work and have done a couple of lantra one day courses on tree inspection. Any help or advice would be very welcomed.

Thanks

Try and get involved with which ever is your local Tree Officer Association.

My guess would be that the MTOA is perhaps your closest, having an office in the West midlands (perhaps there is one in Wales, but I don't know)

mtoa | The Municipal Tree Officers Web Site

They will I'm sure, hold seminars and training for their membership much like the London Tree Officers Association which is my local one.

I'm doing it at syston in Leicester. Its a trek for me from wigan about 2hours on a good run. Sessions are about every 2-3 weeks. I'm a self employed arborist and wish to expand my horizons and do more in the way of consultancy work. I'm looking to the future when I am fed up of climbing in the wind and rain I can do surveys whilst I send someone else to do the hard graft
