Im nearly 17 and want to become a tree surgeon. I was wondering what courses I need to go on, can anyone tell me?

Im at college now in my second year doing arboriculture

You need to look into level 3 arboriculture courses at a college i suppose or you could look at apprenticeships in it through a college. There is the option of taking the tickets for felling and climbing and such seperatly but it will cost alot more but you will have the tickets quicker. Personally i picked college because you get more knowledge out of it and more things to put on a cv.

Can you just do a chainsaw course to be able to cut trees? or do you have other courses too?

You can do but as far as i know the more qualifications you gain the higher chance of getting employed. Theres a list of most of the qualifications that are available to be gained through nptc although alot are forestry based click on the NPTC to see the qualifications NPTC
