Lumberjack competions

I recently watched a show called 'Lumberjack OK' that was on Channel 4, I don't know, about 10 or so years ago! It featured the Lumberjack challange which was run, and I guess still is, in America and Canada.

The show was great, and I wondered if we run anything similar over here? I 've seen some of the axe comps at shows, but nothing as varied as they do in the USA. Does anyone know if we run anything like that?

And how do you get into the axe comps? Are women allowed to enter?

Any help on this would be great!

I dont think we have the variety over here though No. Like running with a massive snatch block on your shoulder jumping over log hurdles etc. or log running on water.??

Not sure though.

if you go the stihl usa site they sponsor the timbersports series on espn which is exactly what you are talking about and women compete fairly regularly in that.

More helpfull, thank you will check it out. Do you know anything about getting into the axe comps at the APF?
