I need to replace the on/off kill switch on my 254 but can't see how to remove the old one without breaking something. I'm sure it's obvious but can anyone tell me how to do it? :confused1:

Thanks!

If they're the same as a 262 then there is a small earthing screw into the body, vertically down, then remove the spade terminal and it should have two spring clips, right and left, which can be eased out of the body toward the back handle.

Not 100% sure but they are held in either by a screw on the inside of the cover that screws in to the base of the air box or they are held in with two clips on the rear of the switch - these would need easing inwards from the rear of the switch.

The screw mounting method actually screws one of the switch terminals to the base thus earthing it!

Many thanks chaps, thanks for your help - found that once I disconnected the lead and the earth screw it's just a matter of prising the unit out with a screw driver.
