My contractors and I follow the rule that if they break or damage anything through stupidity or negligence then they pay for it. If I cut my climbers rope I would be buying him a new one end of. Maybe have a chat with the lad and get a few things straight before you have anymore trouble.

 

I would hope most subbies work the same way and it's good that it cuts both ways with you. I know of a climber who brought his GRCS to a job then got lumbered with the repair bill when it got broken :thumbdown:. I snagged a gatepost with a trailer once and coughed up for it, meaning I earned the princely sum of £12.50 for the day, before fuel and tax. My mistake, my bill. The plus side to it is if you're honest, you get asked back (unless it was a horrendous ricket :laugh1:).
