Thanks for the reply s. We've got the same problem with the 88 too, which had a full service, and refurb from our mechanic, im thinking there just old, ive never actually had the pleasure of using a new 66 or 88 so nothing to compare

 

They probably just need the carb, muffler and cylinder cleaning, and probably a new piston, it's quite a simple job to do and will give quite a lot of power back, dropping the base gasket out and using liquid sealant will also up the power.
