Over-hot cylinder, rpm correct. Ideas?

is there a cold running switch over plug in the air filter cover like the254 xp? as if shut will make it run hot in this part of the world.

 

Good thought, but the hole should be plugged not open. It stops the hot air from the cylinder coming through to the carb.

The hole should be covered/plugged, as it will put hot air through the carb, which would cause it to overheat
