I have a 346 that will only start when the chain break is off and as soon as you put the chain break back on it cuts out.

Does anyone know why this's is and how to fix it!

Thanks

Caleb

It will be friction between the clutch and the drum, possibly a worn needle bearing, crap in the clutch drum or twine round the crank shaft.

You will need to remove the drum, clutch and bearing, clean and inspect the parts and replace. Also check the clutch springs are OK.
