I asked the same question two years ago.

 

I think they recommend five years but I suppose it depend upon use and only you can be the judge of that.

 

The main body and the main bolt can't be replaced, that's how they sell more new ones.

 

I used mine most days for eight years (but don't tell anyone!)

I believe I was told 5 years on textiles and 10 on metalwork, obviously use dependant and subject to LOLER inspections. The only textile part of the LJ is the toggle so hardly a load bearing part.

 

Cams and sideplates are easily changeable and cheap too. I think by rough calculations, hitch cord cost me more than LJ parts after the initial purchase was made.

That's how it worked out for me too. A Hitch Climber is more expensive than an LJ over the life of the LJ
