Customer has a large stump in there garden, it has honey fungus, there are fruiting bodies all over the lawn, 2 of there connys in the hedge have died and it's looking like HF is the culprit. Any ideas what they can do to stop it spreading?

To be honest, if it's infected a few trees in the same area, you've got big problems.

A butyl type membrane could be installed as a barrier around trees that are not already infected, but it can be costly and labour intensive.

Remove any infected trees immediately and grind out as much stump as possible.

Suitable replanting with species that are less susceptible to infection.

Pour neat armillitox patio cleaner over the soil

Is that gonna help, I am going to grind out a large old stump that looks to be the cause of the Honey Fungus, there are a few other stumps around that can go also. Then should they just spray that area with that stuff? They don't want to loose all the trees in their garden, there is another conny in the hedge dying also.

are we still demonising the most common and ubiquitous fungi?

maintain healthy growing conditions and your remaining trees will not succumb.

Armillatox will kill all beneficials too, and leave a competition free zone ready for pathogens to colonise rapidly once the armillatox has washed away. That will happen quickly with all this rain!

Oh well maybe just grind out the stumps then?
