Hi guys as the title says I wanted to ask if it's possible to swap the standard metal rings on the first gen butterfly connecting the leg loops and bridge to the new gen shackles and bridge and put a swivel on.

Thanks

Gareth

What you need is something like this. Its a proprietary stitched tape replacement bridge with 2 stainless shackles.

Its used but in good order, its been in a drawer for several years so its age is probably contemporary with your harness.

It can be yours if you want it, just make a donation of a tenner to the children's trust and I will post it to you:thumbup:

That looks just like what I've been looking at getting but the problem is fitting that to the harness itself. At the moment the two metal rings that are holding the leg loops and bridge in place are fixed so I can't replace the bridge or anything unlike the newer design

This fits on the rings and replaces the bridge.

There is 12-13mm of clearance in the throat of the shackles, your rings should fit through there, you can leave the existing bridge in place or cut it free from the ring

yep good work,

personally i would leave the existing bridge in place if it dont bother, could be usefull as a strop point.

them swivels help alot when you have to turn round.

so long as your happy to work the harness then go for it,every person should be able to grade their own kit to a standard far higher than the polotics of regulations say we have to work too...:001_smile:

Believe me the harness maybe old but it's in far better condition than other harnesses I've seen

I wouldn't use it if it wasn't safe
