Towing Chipper/trailer with 20hp Mower?

I have just brought a Countax A2050 HE Honda 20HP ride on mower. Not because I need or have any use but it was going cheap. It came with a little trailer and scarifier.

Has anyone used one for moving stuff, How much will it tow? Just across the yard or over a garden? would it be worth removing the deck and using it for pulling chippersacross gardens, or maybe a trailer/arb trolley? It might be useful to move logs from the log pile to splitter.

I have never even driven one, and know nothing about them, except what they sell for on ebay! :001_smile:

Hi Ben!

used to tow a oil filled 6' ballast rollar around the horse paddocks years ago with one & the other half used to tow a muck barrow filled to the top of greedy boards with horse pooh. Did this for many times, never had a problem.

I suppose you could kill the 'hydro' easily enough, but they are semi-tough.

I use a 20/50 every week mowing large estates, we do use a Kodiak 450 quad for pulling the Jensen 521 about off road, just manages that. Have also used a C800 at another site with trailer to move a compost heap so heavy stuff, that seemed to go ok, just goes a bit slow, can't be helped I guess.

If you need a workshop manual go to:
