Just been thinking its time for a new pair of Pfanner Zermats. They have been without any doubt whatsoever, the best boot I've had for tree work in general. A bit clompy, especially at first but soon wore in. Great with spikes on and always been totally dry. After about 2-3 years (I cant even remember now) the sole is becoming a bit of a 'slick' rather than the nice grippy sole of the new boot so its time to get some new ones.

Or.... after looking around. Does anybody have any feedback on the SIP Pro innovation.

SIP Pro Innovation Chainsaw Boots

It is a lot cheaper and looks like a good heel for spikes. Would love to know if they are worth a go. If any doubt, I am very happy to stick with Zermats.

Cheers

Well I just ran a Favourite Climbing Boot thread on the Climbers Forum and the Sip boots were not mentioned once.

Zermatt seems popular on the ground and Airstreams seem favourite overall.

trees, waves and cakes!!:-) now Free

Really. Not waterproof! :confused1:

It says 'breathable hydrophobic leather'. I just assumed any boot would be waterproof so assumed thats what that meant.

I think I'll definitely stick with Zermats
