Bulk firewood in Stroud?

Hi

I use about 7 cords of firewood annually, and up to now I have been using my own dead wood, or getting rounds off a tree surgeon or slabwood from sawmills. I am getting bored of the endless hours processing it myself, SO am finally looking forward to the luxury of getting the stuff already processed.

Unfortunately, prices around here (Stroud, Gloucestershire) are pitched well above my ceiling.

Does anyone know where I can get reasonably priced wood from? I would be looking for a bulk delivery... Thanks

What do you call sensible? I think you will find price is strong from your surrounding delivery area.

As you know the amount of work that is involved why not just find a local supplier with a good product and buy off him you could then build your own supply back up.

LGW is right, I'm afraid. Asking for relief from the processing AND a price well below the local rates isn't going to bring you success. Sorry if that's hard to hear. If someone could get it to your area easily, they'd be better selling it to others at full price than at a marked discount to yourself.

 

And do you really mean 7 cords? That's about 35m3 of loose logs, or 18 tons green... It's an AWFUL lot!
