You have broken the main shaft that runs right throught the roller, if its anything like the one on my 536QXE. Complete roller strip down, new bearings each end, also new needle roller bearings each side of the gearbox, plenty of grease and a lot of cleaning require round the circlips on the shaft, it gets full of rust and water. About 2-3 hrs work plus parts. Think the last shaft was £27, bearings say £12.

Make sure you watch carefully how the left hand "adjuster" side is dismantled.

hi

my trusty honda 476c mower broke yesterday .. the roller seems to have come off (see picture)

the mower fixing man is on a 2-3 week wait .. wondered if anyone had any experience on fixing this ..is it straightforward ?

Cheers

What has happened is that the bearing has siezed and the shaft has spun in the brg until it has worn through.

On this model the shaft is part of the roller and so a complete roller is needed at £76 +vat, as well as two new bearings. Simple half hour job though.
