many thanks guys for all your advice i apreciate all your views, i am struggling a bit on the fine detailing and thought the mini grinder would help ,it is going cheap and i might have a go, i will still try to refine my work with the carving bar and agree that only time and experience will improve me, once again many thanks, what a great site will start posting some of my carvings soon when they look good enough, just did an owl but it looks more like a meerkat with wings lol

I use the Proxon with the circular mini chainsaw bit and could not live without it.

 

Used it for fine detail in areas that are difficult to get to, it's not the most powerful tool and it does have an on/off switch that can be turned on and off by accident so be careful. Never get complacent when using sharp tools :thumbup:
