Not the driest wood! Lit the fire outside this morning at 6:50 for a cuppa using wolf offcuts and had the devil of a job to get it to light ending up using bear offcuts initially. The wolf wood hisses like a goodun so is well wet, I have had it sitting in a bucket with 1/2" of linseed oil in for 12 hours and it's taken most of it up already.

so far i have made firewood out of 2 of my carvings...thats 2 in about 18 months. dont stress it, finish the piece and then decide. I have to admit though, when i cut the head off a sitting pixie i had attempted and messed up (properly messed up, mis-cut her legs and had to re design it when she was almost finished, ruined teh proportions and looked awful) it was kinda fun. imagined those i disliked teh most and 'cut off her head' like the queen of hearts.

So far I have thrown nothing away but I have only been doing it since Feb this year so still plenty of time to make firewood

The pictures of the wolf as it is now are flattering. Lots more work needed but proportions are just all wrong so regardless of what I do it wont look like the picture in my mind :(
