Looks just as likely they have been reduced and grouted blockwork put in place. If so, where do you start to explain why that's a bad idea?

I'm taking 1 down tomorrow that died this year, it has the same rubbery sap on the lower bark!

 

Is that the one that's on General Tree Pics now? Loooks pretty discoloured inside the utt. Did a post mortem show up any particular ailment?
