Doesn't the machine come with a bar that enables the top roller to be lifted easily to allow material to be pulled out of the hopper rollers.

We had one on demo chipping oak and it was impressive. However, my concern is the narrow hopper presumably designed for the tracked machine so it can be taken off to access pedestrian gates.

I've suggested a larger optional hopper for the wheeled version, perhaps use the hopper from their 8" Forst machine which isn't in production yet but could be adapted for both machines.

The build quality looks good similar to my schliesing with good power and decent blades.

Ok my first day with the Forst went very well, we racked up 5 hours on the machine and it didn't miss a beat or jam once, the only problem we had at the start was over shoot...damn it came out fast and hard !! . Im mostly impressed with how fast it chipped, had some probs keeping up with it at times.and we had some pretty s**t weather yesterday....And thats putting it nicely :-/ImageUploadedByArbtalk1380866481.242654.jpg.af91e52c4441664ec84a6d7a86d387bb.jpg

What do you think of the in feed hopper on the Forst machine? My thoughts were its a bit narrow.

Yeah probably could do with being a bit wider, it didn't have any trouble pulling in oak today, maybe they could bring out a wider hopper as an extra ! FOC of course :)

Still we had 2 loading it today and we didn't seem to get in each other way.

Awesome bit of kit though, very pleased with it.
