Stihl HS81T Reviews?

I am currently looking to replace my Makita/Robin/Dolmar hedgecutters.

I have always found them to do a nice tight prune on finer material. Have always got better results than with my stihl HS80 and HS85.

I put this down to the blade size, cutter speed and how the blades tighten up on the support bar.

HS81T is new to stihl range and is marketed for topiary etc, due to the smaller blades and quicker cutting speed. As the current Makita etc do not have anti V's fitted I am considering the HS81T.

Has anybody used them. Even better if you used to use the Makita etc and have converted, how did you find the HS81T in comparison.

This is not a question in relation to the HS81R.

Thanks for any feedback:thumbup1:

the i got the hs86t and the hs81r seems to run for ever on a tank of fuel but for me rear handle and front handle is set to far apart and feels like the front is pulling down extra strain on the arm, the blades are very soft and after a little while you will get a wear gap and can hear the blades rattle on tick over and no way of tightening up due to spacer ware. and to get them to cut more than 10mm you will have to wait into it chews through so dont get a neat finished had a echo befor was top notch got nicked tho and a oleo mac heavy but was a good cutter
