I had the same problem and found one on ebay for £69 + postage (£15) from poland! The bloke will make the copne to fit your splitter. It is a single piece cone so i am not sure how long it will last. I am expecting it to arrive soon and will let you know what it is like when i get hold of it. I will also try and put a link on here later if you want.

Tommer9,

My new log splitter screw arrived in the week - it looks pretty good, although smaller than the orginal. There is no removalable tip but at the price i'm not complaining - i can always sharpen it with an angle grinder if required. There is another one ebay (£59) at the link below (if my IT skills allow).

Over all i am happy with it.

If this does work it it item number: 290304679400

Sorry chaps - just adding my two penneth. The biggest selling one here is the Hycrack http://www.hycrack.co.uk

I bought a replacement cone and tip - the cone is 40mm id and the screw in tip is M16 - for one that I am refurbishing for a neighbour. She had 'her man what does' take off the cone when the tip got damaged, he gave it to a friend of a friend etc and it dissapeared!

They are expensive compared to Poland or NI @ £100 approx for the cone + £60 for the tip but perhaps you get what you pay for. Hycrack say in normal use a cone should 'never' need replacing and a tip say every three years + the tips are then replaceable should you need too.

I'm all for keeping machines original if you can altough I guess if it's not a hy-crack then it does not matter so much

cheers
