Ms170 engine case

Ok so looking for an ms170 engine case.

Problem is the clip part holding the plastic black throttle rod part (shaft switch) has snapped so the rod isn't being held anymore and can't engage choke properly.

Obviously a nice shiny new case will outweigh the cost of the saw, so if anyone has one of these in bits I would be gratefull and interested in this part please.

Ok so this is a begging post.

The saw is not for a customer but a friend. It's been cable tied up so at least the saw can be used but don't know how long for. And would rather have a saw working properly than a bit slap happy with any repair.

There is a few used ones on the bay. But if its just the front part thats bust off leaving half of the "u" shape there you can repair it by drilling a small hole 1.5mm and threading a wire through and around the switch shaft to hold it in place. Ive done it a few times and it works well.

Ive repaired the back part before of the clip. It certainly seems to be a week spot on them. I found a bit of plastic nylon and filed it about to make a shape of the original and using a plastic type araldite stuck it in position. Also glued a bit over the top just incase it tried to flip out again. Downside is the top bit would need snipping off to remove the said rod.

Replacements tend to go for about £30 but like you say with the labour seems a financial loss.
