You'll have to nail a plaque to it, saying it was saved for the wee crazy sasenach tree hugger :001_tongue:

The beech I posted in the general tree pics thread was interesting work to say the least. The instruction on the work sheet was to fell the whole tree, the verbal instruction was to reduce the limbs to balance, and leave standing due to its value for habitat. The verbal instruction was then over-ruled by the board of governors. The limbs were then cut right back ready to fell the todd. Then the agent tells me that the tree must stay, part of the FC stipulations on the site, which I was not privy too. The conflict is between the vista (aesthetic) and environmental value. Luckily I' left the todd to fell for today!:001_smile:

it was the only damage for miles around, we thinks it might of been a twister, sounds a bit far fetched. but i had a stack of loose ton bags 50 feet away that never budged, 3 other trees 500 yards away got blown in the opposite direction to the beeches. and my mates bin from the front of his house was lying round the back, and it would pretty much need picked up and put there. it happened just before i bumped this thread on sat night, after i posted the wind dropped away. its one for mulder and scully me thinks:confused1::001_smile:
