New chain oil video

Well.............suprise !- we've been using this stuff in engineering fr donkeys years, its called cutting oil...........water soluble lube fr steel milling an turning, because water absorbs abt 5 times more heat per degree of temperature rise than plain oil , the cooling effect is much increased, I never thought of using it in saws till this video. An there is no reason why not to.

An engineering firm should sell you 5l fr a tenner if you want to try it. It can seperate out after a while but if yr storing a saw, run a tank of mineral oil thru it -that should sort it. I dont kno the bio impact of this-but as it keeps dissolving-I would think its bettererer than mineral oil. I would think you'll find yr saw trousers stinking from it in summer-it does grow lovely algae in the sun. Mmmmmmmmmm
