You could revert to the old fashioned way of cuttings round the edge of clay pots. I still keep clay pots just for that purpose. Commercially it was the only way we could guarantee the quantity of good quality cuttings.

 

clay pots are much better for plant health / growth than plastic for sure :thumbup1:

 

but that aeroponic propogator really is the dogs b******s ! & it's sucess rate is near 100% a big plus is you can pick each individual cutting up & check root progress :thumbup:

5 week's in... No sign of roots, some signs of swelling around the point where the leaves where cleaned off the stem. I have been forced to add a little plant food as they where starting to lose color and brown, some where trying to sprout on top. Since adding a little nutrient they have all perked back up again.

We'll it's failure on the first attempt, cuttings still fairly green after 9 week but the stems are mouldy and rotting with no sign at all of rooting

 

Trying this time with fastigiata and the old trick of soaking willow cuttings in the water for 48hours, I'm hoping the powerful rooting hormone in the willow will kick start the yew
