I have done quite a bit of work in that area and initially thought it was a bit of a wind up...

I mean how many "woods" can you get in the opening paragraph and still be taken seriously?

No good though the fact he had his kit stolen.

Yeah I checked his Facebook page. Seems the press were omitting a few details so not to spoil a good story.

Taken from his page...

Yeh they've over egged the rescue, they unknotted my rope from a branch it was tangled round, I'm very grateful though hahah!

My mate had gone to get a ladder when he noticed the truck had been nicked....

London Fire Brigade tweeted about it and a reporter got wind of it.

This is actually a friend of myn, he was up a 80ft oak finishing a reduction when his rope became tangled on a branch. He sent his apprentice lad to go get his climbing kit to climb up and release his rope. The boy runs back and says "The fu***ng vans gone!"

then thats the real story not what the press put down. poor sod gets tangled gets his groundie to help and some low life nicks his van and chipper.

hope he gets it back and he is ok. nothing safe dare not leave anything worth nicking out of eye shot or it will be gone.
