When i was working in the States i was using poison Ivy climbing rope, i seem to remember it not having a CE mark, am i correct? Is anyone selling it in UK yet? And if it doesn't have a CE mark i am assuming i shouldn't really be using it in UK? Is this right? All the world champs seem to be climbing on it in competitions, so why is it not certified for use in Europe, seems a bit silly to me! It is bloody good rope!!

Poison Ivy is a fatter version of Yale Blaze. I'm not sure on the CE status, but Blue Moon, which is pretty much the same thing in a different colour, is available here and I'm almost sure has a CE mark.

FWIW, if I liked it I would climb on it CE marked or not.

poison ivy and blue moon are not ce marked yet, if you are an employed climber you legaly cant climb on either, but if you are self employed you can, this is because they carry the american ancy marking(not sure if ancy is spelled right!!) there has been alot going on with the legalities of these two ropes in the past few weeks, i think btrac are having to pull the poison ivy from their catalog. these lines cannot be used in a uk and i climbing comp as of last week! so some of us will have to buy new lines including me.

hope that helps
