Personally I don't think climbing gear is that expensive & I like to have good kit that makes the job safe & enjoyable ..

The problem is because in starting out it is costing me a lot to get all the gear to start with, replacing things as and when will not b e to bad but at the start it costs a lot in my opinion lol

I personally wouldn't go for 2nds. Although they may have passed all strength tests it would niggle my mind while strapped to it. It is expensive setting up initially but at what do you value your life?? FR Jones have always done great deals for me and if you check out the trade fairs (Arb show in cirencester is this weekend) you can get yourself a bargain when buying in bulk. The other way if you know anyone in america is to buy it there and ask them to ship it as a gift

Yet you happily use all your existing used kit

 

 

They are not seconds in the traditional sense of the word. Most people would be hard pushed to see why they are in the cosmetic blemish box.

 

I bet that most new firsts on the shelf in most stores will have more marks on them then DMM seconds just from handling.

 

DMM have very high standards.

 

Also most of the staff & Directors are very keen climbers so fully understand the head game that climbers go through re the kit.
