Ripper blade on cut of saws - any good?

Anybody used one of the ripper blades on a cut off saw for tree roots and stuff you wouldn't use a chainsaw for

 

Thinking of getting one for my TS but there not cheap although if they work could be a good way of grinding small stumps to just below surface rather than a full on stump grinder

i got one ,great for cutting roots :thumbup:,railway sleepers etc not sure they would be any good as a stump grinder tho

hi woodman it aint quick throu a sleeper,ok for dirty timber,roots etc gnaws rather than cuts but faster than have to keep sharpening your chain.if your close to me you can borrow and try if you like.i got mine as was digging out a massive ash stump with a small digger and made it easy to dig round with roots cut off.
