Echo CS280

Hi all

 

I bought a new Echo CS280WES in October 2012 & fitted it with a 1/4" sprocket & cannon carving bar.

I service my saws & sharpen my chains on a regular basis so I'm sure it can't be down to using a blunt chain or a damaged saw.

But after 30 mins of use I'm getting numb hands /white finger & have to put the saw down until I get feeling back.

 

Is anyone else experiencing this? Do you think it could be down to the AV rubbers? Or because I've fitted the saw with a carving bar?

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have one of these saws, was told by ECHO TOOLS UK they couldn't get a 1/4" sprocket so would be interested to know where yours came from, I use the 1/4" tip carving bar but with a very normal 3/8 chain, I've only used mine for 15 minutes or so, so can't say about vibration, will keep an eye out for that though.

Hi pulsar46, not sure why Echo Uk would tell you they can't get a 1/4" spocket for a 280 You should be able to pick one up from any Echo dealer!

If you are having trouble locating one try Taylors tools Welcome to Taylors Tools — Taylors Tools as i know for a fact they stock them or can order one in for you.

Thanks Gee, When I called them I must of got through to the office school leaver lol, I'm in contact with Echo at the moment ref I ordered a carving bar and chain and they sent a standard bar and chain:thumbdown:

I run the older 270 and had also been told by a couple of echo dealers that a 1/4" sprocket wasnt available, You definatly have a 1/4" and thats not the source of the vibration/white finger?

Hi do you know anything about the old cs2800 I was given one in pieces and refurbished it ? It works great but parts are hard to get. I don't use it much but it was nice to get it running.

I have a cs2700. Ace little light saw. Good for carving or brash. Reliable so far
