I was watching one of these used chippers on ebay. The seller thought it was 30k New :sneaky2: but a quick google shows they can be bought brand fire new for 10k + vat. I am still looking for a hydraulic feed chipper for my large garden. I was hopeing to buy the ebay one for 4k but it made 7k and its 8 years old. There is a posch one with conveyor out on ebay but I have no idea if they would do the job. The conveyor may be better for us to load tonne bags rather than spit it all over the hedge and lawn. Anyone have any ideas ? Would and entec treebusta do the job.

Treebustas are great little chippers can blow in to builders bags by hooking them to the hopper. They need modding by making the the exit shorter and wider.

I have an older bearcat pto chipper and it does chomp through stuff, its a 8 or 9inch feed. Whilst its not like the monster beasts available now, it makes short work of brash as long as its not forked material like apple trees not reduced enough.

The reason I want a hydraulic feed is our stuff is a bit tough bushy knarled and forked. We dont have nice straight hazel willow or sycamore. Its more elder, hawthorn, conifer and caked in ivy. If i have to cut it up too much may as well put it through my huge incinerator. Soon I will be surrounded by houses so thought I better bite the bullet early.

friend of mine has an old bearcat, 9" with 50hp kubota. easy to work on, built like a tank, around 2tons.

not the speediest or most powerful infeed roller, but its steady. nothing really bad to say about it, just a heavy old lump.

and i do believe the rrp on a new 9" bearcat machine is 25k+

reflecting on your material Id be inclined to use a shredder as pushing thorny brash in will make you curse the machine. Conifer, elder ok but ivy in abundance bungs up and wraps round rollers and flywheel shaft, could cause major problems if not noticed in time such as friction bearing issues and even metal fatigue.
