Which policies?

Well as some of you may gather from my thread on paperwork awareness I am certainly not full filing my duties in that department :001_smile:

So to try and get my business on the straight and narrow, to ensure the health and safety of myself and staff, to help my business grow and secure further work and to make me a bit more professional! I am going through what stuff I need to get in place.

The list I have so far is:-

Health and safety policy

Environmental policy.

Risk assesment

Method statement

COSHH

LOLER assesment

ALcohol and drugs policy

Employment Policy

Equipment checklists

Certifications

Insurance

Thats about all I can think of!

So is there anything else I should add?

Now I have a few of those but not all, I have been looking on the net as regards to enriomental and health and safety polices and noticed that there are a few companies that specialise in drafting you one up (for a fee of course)

Now has anyone had any dealings in this line of work and could they recomend anyone?

I have downloaded some samples and I am looking through trying to sort it out, but its making me go blind, not through excitement mind :scared1:

Hopefully this thread would not only benefit me but also others who could do with a bit of a helping hand :001_smile:

If I do manage to sort something out whether its my own doing or someone else's I will post them here for everyone to use (copyright providing)

get yourself an independent safety officer, and he will get everything for you and keep you right, i paid mine about 600 quid and he made up all the relevant folders, talked me through them, and sent me new stuff everytime it got updated, if i got a tricky site to look at i would just send him in, it was great. the customers loved it because he new his stuff.

Hello Mate

if your goal is to secure larger contracts

then my suggestion is to apply for some

whewn you get the PQQ you will see the requiste info & accreditions that most require

then backwards engineer your documents to fit

In that way you may not qualify for those which you initially apply however it will be a good grounding for you !!!

hope it helps

if you want a chat pm me or ring the office ( See web )

iain

Safety cant be under estimated , good working practices build a good operation which build credibility imo

Cheers it does all help.

Just looking through a tender now (LA)

Its surprising what is high and or low on there list of objectives that you have to meet. ie relevance to the job in hand only 10% no wonder loads of management companies win these things.

I think I have most things covered atm, cheers for the offer of advice through a call PM etc.
