Same trip. Just started spinning out a bit when I read the Foriegn office website. Wifey and daughter are staying home, looks like I will be doining it alone, no takers yet.

 

I would take that beast of a dog of yours as protection! :001_smile:

I used to sell safaris for a small travel company. The foreign office quite often gave out advice to not travel to certain areas because of the possible threats of terrorism/civil unrest etc.

 

The problem is they often apply these guides across a country/region when actually on a small area is affected. For example after the bomb in Mombasa they advised against travel to most of East Africa which scuppered quite a few of my clients going to Tanzania.

 

I would probably go, but we aware that your travel insurance may not cover you if you travel agains FO advice.

The FO say the country as a whole is safe, but the area specificallly we are headed to has had quite a few problems which they say have been getting worse latley

 

Anyway gonna book the ticket tomorrow for 20th March, just got to hope for good swell.
