could somebody confirm what these are - I don't think these are hispidus and perenniporea in the photos which means they probably are! tried to show the brittle fracture on this basal ash limb that failed. Hispidus would be black now wouldn't it?

 

apologies for the qualities of the photos - the tree hangs over a ravine and I was stretching with the phone.

 

going back to cut the limb up, strip the ivy off and get the mallet out tomorrow.
