RopeArmor Ropeknight ultimate throw weight!

Old Mill Tree Care

Looking at the recent posts on this thread it appears that no one else is interested except me (so thats a bit embarrassing).

Anyway, I don't care and I thought I should update. I fired the RK a few times yesterday and I think the reason for it previously hitting the BS head is because when it's in the pouch, the tip rests on the pole and this means it is twisted upon release. It's because the RK is quite long.

So, I found that by twisting the trigger a bit, the pouch is straighter and it misses the BS head.

I'm ashamed to admit that I've been using my old throwbag during the last week and I was amazed at how often it gets stuck on twigs and in forks compared to the RK, which doesn't get stuck.

Rk is bit over 16 cm and the average bag is 14cm plus the knot you tie to the bag.

The BigShot does give me troubles at times and the slight twist does work. BS isn't perfect but even with the added bulk of the Foam or vinyl sleeve it flies pretty true.

Hope you iron things out with the RK and BS;)

Old Mills get your hand throwing down, its so much faster and quicker to reset, when using the RK I was amazed at the Heights I could accuratly achieve by hand over conventional bags. And as most trees we climb are 20m 60-70ft and under on a daily basis that's pretty easy by hand.

Leave the Big shot for the really awkward stuff.

Or buy a throw pod for other end of the throw line, that's what I'd like in an ideal world throw pod and ropeknight combined.

Marc, how very dare you suggest that I improve my hand throwing skills.

If I did this, the BigShot would become redundant = more money wasted!

Haha!

Anyway, hand throwing is impossible and I've wasted too much time wondering where it's gone only to hear it land behind me!

I'll stick with the BS and hand throw only into Apple trees.

Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
