Picus wanted for hire

As Paul said, given that you'd need to be trained to use the device, which might take a day, then you might be better to just get someone in to do the scan or scans for you. Another issue is that, unlike a chipper or other bit of plant, they're not super-robust devices, so you'd need to take great care and repairs are expensive.

I expect a hire of a device might only make sense over a long period, if you had a load of scans to do.

PM me if you need any further info.

Best

Scott

It's a very good piece of kit - and bl@@dy expensive.

Everyone I know who has one is outrageously knowledgable.

The view is that you need tons of experience/knowledge to fully understand what the picus shows you, and if you are charging for the advice then you must really be on the ball.

I'm not questioning your knowledge/experience - it's probably worth using a picus owner's full service and let their professional Indemnity insurance cover any claims resulting from the advice they give.

My local Picus man is happy to supply an excellent service, better than I could.

So that's what I do.

Just the ramblings of an ageing arb-nut.. Good luck with whatever you decide.
