They look really handy - be good to see some vids of them in operation.

 

 

Would it be worth putting a flat edge on the bottom so it sits flat and stable or is it an easy job to wedge it and saw?

If you look closely at this picture you will notice there is a dog holding the timber in place

Hi we find one sufficient you will notice there are a couple of small wooden wedges also in place. So long as the blade is sharpened correctly and the saw is set up properly with table square to the blade you won't have any trouble
