It was me making mistakes.:blushing:

A quick run through of mistakes that caused the accidents are.

4 chainsaws cuts,

First using a saw (020 which was mine) that wasnt running correctly had to blip throttle so it didnt cut out, reached over to removed a branch I had cut hand went accross chain, bit of a scar not much.

Risk assessment would state all machinery should be well serviced which would prevent the need for the "blip".

Second using 020 on ground cutting up logs for firewood, kickback straight into middle finger left hand severed nerves.

Riske assessment/method statement stating 020 for use in tree only

Forth using 020 again flicking branches away from power lines used too much force saw swung around and caught left side of thigh on left leg, type A on only, another scar nothing major.

Risk assessment stating all climbers to wear type c chainsaw trousers

Falls broken ribs after free climbing a willow to remove a hanger (I had used a rope and harness previously to prune the tree) fell about 6 foot but landed sideways on limb after the branch I had hold of snapped.

I appreciate these happened a long time ago and probably not your fault but if the person in charge had prepared the neccessary paperwork making you aware of the risks they may not have happened,- and you'd have a few less scars

that said "chicks do dig scars!"

I appreciate the comments and expected something a lot harsher :001_smile:

BUT I didnt say that there were no RA in place at the time, I completely knew not to use 020 on the ground, not to use a faulty saw, type c didnt apply at the time, and some not all happened while doing my own jobs for my company.

For probably most of those jobs if I had followed best procedure or what ever it is then I would have been using a handsaw out of a MEWP and lol I have also cut myself with one of those too.

A change of career did cross my mind a few times but well I could be driving a cab and get side swiped by a wagon tomorrow.

At least in this job you are in control of most situations and well if you FU** up most of the time you only injurer yourself.

Not killed anyone yet! (hmmm shouldnt really say that I suppose)

Not being funny or anything, but looking at it from an employers point of view, if you came to me with a wrap sheet like that there's no way I could entertain using you for any work, not even for sub-contracting.

Yeah I wouldnt employ me either, but then if I was going for a job you wouldnt get to know about it :001_smile:

You'd go mad doing anything else...or are you mad doing it?

Tbh I think I am getting bored doing tree's these days, just dont seem to enjoy it anymore, well OK not as much as I did.

And I keep thinking there isnt enough money in this job if you dont enjoy it.

Prob still be here in 25 years time though tbh :001_smile:
