Just a bit of advice really. Ive been offered to buy 4 stacks of oak, roughly 45ton per stack there in 2 meter lengths. There classing it as fire wood, how much do you think i should offer for it. Any advice would be great.

Last year, I bought some firewood from the estate where I live. Straight off the forwarder, it was £20/tonne..I believe that's their roadside firewood price. I'd say that £20/t at roadside now is a minimum for firewood.

depends on what size dbh. if its big lumps, it'll be £20 tonne minimum - for small dia. thinnings it will be anything up to £35 a tonne.

Whereabouts in the country are you?

Hereford area, Its various sizes from 5inch up to 15inch plus. Its just the left overs from the 240 oaks that are being felled, some of it can be planked, charcoal etc. just ideas

Dont no who the seller is, its only by invite only a friends been invited. The wood will be up for tender in a 3-4 months . I think the fire wood is in the back pocket type thing. There is surprisingly a lot of waste

I can think of a few uses , but they just cut the main timber, everything else they class as fire wood. all the better for me if i just buy it as fire wood. like i said before they are cut in 2m lenghts at least
