Research for Amenity Trees Series

the 'Research for Amenity Trees' Series of books (i believe there are 8) are highly regarded for research purposes, and are regularly referenced in scientific articles and such.

 

a couple of titles you might recognise are

 

- Diagnosis of ill health in trees

- Principles of Tree Hazard Assessment and Management

- Body Language of trees

 

However, they are all out of print, and the only available copies seem to be on Amazon, where they are available for up to £500

 

Last year the Arb Association got the rights to publish and distribute these books, however they are still out of print on the sales website.

 

Does anybody have any idea if these books will become available again? Will they be reprinted, or are they working on a new series?

 

Or does anybody have a set they will sell to me?

Sadly this series is becoming rare! so much so that body language of trees was "vanished"from my loan service and hence forth no longer available to loaners.

 

I have them all but refuse to lose another, but anyone is welcome to come have a read and a coffee anytime

I spent many odd hours on the net and eventually found all of them, ebay, Abebooks and Booksearch. They're out there but you need to search frequently to find them at reasonable costs.

I had no idea they was worth THAT much! thats a total value of a second hand transit if I sold the lot:001_rolleyes:

I sometimes if these places use software to generate the prices based on the number of people searching for the book and the number of copies available. I've seen them listed for close to £2000 - clearly no one is going to pay that much.

I have a reading list which I'm trying to complete, so sit down with multiple sites open and go through the list. Cheap copies do come up but you need to search regularly. Some of these I've used for twenty years, which puts the cost into a little perspective.
