A boy's family house was burnt down in 1954. Locals donated the bike to the young lad. He didn't really like it and after playing in the woods with friends left it there and walked home.

How come its so high up? Trees just don't grow like that - they just add a layer onto the existing one. What's there doesn't elongate or stretch. Basal taper says ground level hasn't changed that significantly either.

Looking at it now maybe it was hung up on a branch and left.. Who knows?
