I've finally relented...

I've been hammering an 18 prolite for for a couple of months - can't phase it; paint barely touched too...

odd, I had run a lot of prolites in the past on nearly all my saws, in the last 8months I havent been at all impressed, I had an old one on a 340husky thats years old and done a lot of work and like you say paint barely off it, but the more recent ones have been naff really rapid wear on rails, nose sprockets seem to have been a really weak point. So i have switch all to powermatch bars now and they are holding up fine. Maybe they had a bad bunch but the last few i had the writing was off the bar after the first couple of trees and then it went down hill from there. It starts getting expensive when your replacing a bar every few days

I agree with Charlie. The smaller Pro lites are made of cheese at the mo, especially the sprockets.

Previously the Husky bars were awfu but the last few I had weren't bad - definitely better than the current Prolites.

I've not got as far as a Sugihara one yet but will be doing shortly.

Interesting points from all. I've ordered it with a 15" bar, i'll see how it holds up. Unfortunately Sugihara don't do a .325 15" or 13" bar as far as i'm aware.

Great feedback from you all!
