Go for 13hp f you can however when we had our 13hp nicked i saw a replacement on earborist and thinking it was 13 i bought it only to find it was 9 when delivered, i was gutted at first but when i used it it proved an impressive little machine, only has 6 teeth and 2 men can lift it anywhere.

get 13 if you can but if you get a good deal on a 9 dont dismiss it.

I've never found a stump in a rear garden that my 13hp rayco can't do.

I admit the 40 inch oak to 18 inches below ground took a lot of effort but no bigger machine would fit.

Killed my back but made hundreds on it.

Unless the 9hp is smaller I'd go for 13 but I've never used a 9 so IC Trees may be right

Most imporant are the type of cutters that are mounted.

Using the round concave ones instead of my old straight tipped ones have increased grinding speed considerably. I use a locally produced machine with 18HP. 30" wide. It gets me (almost) everywhere...
