Still available from most Echo retailers why were the banded over there Ted?

Shortly before or just after Echo bought shindawia the hedger attachment was discontinued. I found out about this at the GIE EXPO in Louisville, KY 3 years ago. Never received a reason why, I just know I can not source the product here.

Stihl Hl 100 here, had it 2 seasons now it has never let me down! Only spares its ever had was the conrods in the gearbox, due to the bearings wearing.

Remember to regularly grease the gearbox whatever you get!

I believe most manufacturers 'discourage' the use of hedge trimmer attachments on long poles. It's something to do with the clutch taking a beating wnen the trimmer hits a big resistance and/or the telesco[ing drive being a bit too delicate - the chainsaw attachment allegedly has its own clutch so no problem.

I know that both times I've had to have my stihl telescopic shaft repaired Mat (my retail man) asked if I had been using the hedge trimmer on it and told me off. He was right.

So why do they make them to fit then?

The reason why manufacturers make products like a hedger attachment to fit on the end of a telescopic pole is to fill a requirement for the end user. I believe within reason most attachments work well, it's when the attachment is pushed over normal operation or not maintained correctly problems arise. That simple.
