I havent used my velocity single line but i would say Kernmaster is more static

Velocity for srt is good, i used it before kern, along with pi. Somewhere in the many posts on RW feedback i rated the ropes id used. Velocity does feel to have less bounce but i prefer the kern for some reason.

Kernmaster is a great rope, stretch wise??? Well its good to have some stretch in the line to absorb the loads, I think climbing on a total static line is IMO not really advisable.

when me Ian and Dan joined both mine and Ian's ropes together to access a spruce I think the only thing causing a lot of stretch was the fact it was over so many springy spruce limbs, climbing with it Drt I feel would be ok but a little hard on the hands pulling you body up without the use of a foot ascender due to its silky smooth sheave and being 11mm diameter.

Thanks for the replys! Might start using srt anyways.. Just need to find a good place to practice l.. On the job probably isnt the best idea!

I know it's not very pc, but I found that the only way to really get into it was work climbing anyway. If the job will stand you slowing down a little bit and you've got your set up about right already it's the best way to work through it I reckon.

That's easy for me to say because I don't work for anyone nor am I really on the clock, but that aside, I reckon that any slowing down from using a new system will more than be made up for by the inherent time saving SRT offers over ddrt anyway....

I'll caveat that by saying obviously not on a massive compromised tree on a windy day in a hazardous location, but you know what I mean. If the right tree comes up, get amongst it...

Yeah my biggest problem is street trees lots of them little money and no time.. just have to go on the hunt for some gems to practice on!
