I originally had this set up as a compilation of ladders gone wrong... it was funny, but I felt bad making fun of what could have been very serious injuries..

Just curious. I would guess that with the level of training so much better for Britts than AMericans, they no longer use the 3 cut method for branch removal. How long ago did they get rid of it?

Boss had me up his folding ladder reducing some overgrown spindly pittosporums on sat, coudnt even reach a good point to reduce to when standing on almost the top run and felt unsafe and came down and told him i wasnt going back up, there are safer ways and better ladders(tripod) in which to do the job. He didnt seem too impressed as he went up the ladder and finished it off.

I watched the video this morning and was shocked !especially at the one where thee guy has the ladder leant against the part of the tree that he is felling and is obviously going to take him and the ladder for a ride then trys to blame his mate. Natural selection at its best!

Well done for saying something. Let him break his neck.

excellent movie..thanks for posting it. Still stomach-clenching after watching it

Would be of great value in a wider forum e.g. gardening, home maintenance etc.

Ladders have such a bad safety reputation in commercial use in the UK that some organisations have just about ‘outlawed’ their use. The reputation is undeserved. As your movie illustrates, it’s the user not the tool where the problem lies. HSE publish useful guidance on safe use of ladders for users and employers in the UK
