You are going the right way ! First we need to know what you are going to use it for and how big is the timber . Then we will know if its 395 BIG saw or 550 small saw territory , or anything in between . :001_smile:

Looking for something relatively lightweight, being a lass, as much as I hate to admit it I cant be lugging a massive saw round all day...

Timber probably wouldn't be much over 200mm diameter much of the time, will be for some basic felling and playing around making firewood

Husqvarna 550XP or 560XP . ..... 550 13"-15" bar and 560 15"-18" bar . You are at the " cutting edge" with these , pardon the pun 1

550 is light and flick able 560 slightly more weight and a bit more grunt . Both saws are way better than the equivalent saw of a few years back . I would guess 550 would be your choice but hey ....

560xp all the way, well worth the time and the money.the best all round saw

Not disputing that it's a good saw, but it's total overkill. For maximum diameters of 15 inches, a 550xp is going to be amply powerful. Any more than that is unnecessary.

550, had a 346, was brilliant, buying a 550 next week, speak to f r jones, they beat any other price I've seen!
